If Lizzie can get through this so can you and I.
Lizzie Velasquez lived her life half blind and with a syndrome that only two other people in the work had. She couldn’t gain weight and never in her life has she weighed more than about sixty- four pounds.
All her life she struggled with bullying because she was different and smaller from the others. Her parents raised her as a normal child so when she went to school for the first time she was surprised when nobody wanted to play with her. In middle school someone posted a video about her called the ugliest girl alive. The video told her to go kill herself. The comments that went along with the video were just as horrible.
She used to self harm and just thought she was so ugly. She hoped that one day she would wake up and she would gorgeous and normal. Lizzie Velasquez decided she would not let her syndrome control and take over her life.
In one of her interviews she stated her thoughts of bullying. She stated “Am I gonna let the people who called me a monster define me? No. I’m gonna let my goals and my success and my accomplishments be the things that define me.”
Lizzie now looks at the bright side to her syndrome. For one, she can eat as much as she wants and doesn’t have to worry about gaining weight. Plus, she has great hair.
She later concluded that she would become a motivational speaker and that she would right a book and get it published. Now, the motivational speaker is working on her third book, moving thousands of people’s lives everyday with her youtube channel, and is married.
